Why MDF cutting impacts the performance and quality of the final product
Share
The performance and quality of MDF panel cutting are influenced by several factors – among them the saw blade model used, the saw itself, the quality of the inputs, and the manufacturing process. However, the desired outcome for professionals handling such a product is a cut without breaks in the MDF's melamine film.
To achieve this goal, quality machinery, careful handling, and attention to the saw blade's height relative to the thickness of the panels being used are essential.
To facilitate the daily process, we have gathered what to do and what not to do in the cutting process.
In the image below, it is possible to see that the saw blade is configured with excessive height, causing only two teeth of the blades to be aligned with the cutting point. When this type of technique is used, professionals experience greater breakage of the melamine film.

Fortunately, avoiding this setback, both at the entry and exit of the saw tooth, is simple. To do this, it is necessary to work with the saw blade in such a way that the blades aligned with the cutting area coincide with the greatest number of teeth – as in the image below, which has almost four teeth aligned with the thickness.
