José Maurício Caldeira, shareholder and board member of Asperbras Brasil, and Geraldo Hypólito Kulaif represented Greenplac MDF at the “II Resgatando Vidas – Gerando Oportunidades Dinner.” The event, held on May 31st in São Paulo, aimed to reinforce the institution's commitment to underprivileged youth and adolescents in São Paulo's favelas and to gain support from serious Brazilian companies for important social projects developed by the institute in partnership with the NGO Gerando Falcões.
The Resgatando Vidas Institute is one of the best and most well-structured non-profit social organizations in the North Zone of São Paulo. Its main objective is to promote citizenship and social transformation through education and entrepreneurship among the population in the vicinity of the Vila Nova Cachoeirinha neighborhood.
Kulaif emphasized the importance of participating in this meeting and always being present in the actions provided by the NGO and members of the institute's board, including the CEO of Gerando Falcões, Edu Lyra, recognized nationally and internationally. "I am a fan of the team and the social work they do, and it is a source of great pride to be part of this history," celebrates Geraldo Kulaif.
Greenplac, an MDF industry located in Água Clara/MS, is one of the six segments of Asperbras Brasil S.A., and has a close relationship with the Resgatando Vidas Institute. For a year, it has promoted different in-person and participatory contributions, such as the commemorative Children's Day event held in the Mazzali community in 2022, organized by the Institute itself. This event, sponsored by Greenplac, donated more than 800 toys to all the children present.
The industry also donates MDF materials to improve the institution's infrastructure, in addition to making a serious monthly financial commitment, within its ESG policy and actions.
"Our partnership with the Resgatando Vidas Institute remains strong with the aim of transforming the lives of young people and adolescents in the communities. It all started with the donation of all the MDF from our stand at ForMóbile 2022, which the institute used to restructure music rooms, theater, reception, and other environments, but we continue to monitor and support even more actions," highlights Jose Maurício Caldeira.
Another example of infrastructure coating donations was the MDF boards used in computer rooms and administrative rooms. "We believe in the transformation of society, and this is another commitment of Greenplac to the future. The circular economy is in our DNA, and the idea is to expand practices like this every year," concludes Caldeira.
Furthermore, with a Green DNA, the industry has made socio-environmental commitments by participating in Reforestation Programs, Community Garden (Horta Green), selective collection, water treatment programs, and clean energy generation, in addition to Circular Design actions with donations and reuse of materials.
