Greenplac MDF participates in the first tree planting action of the FLORA MS project

In partnership with the Department of Environment of the Água Clara City Hall (MS), the company donated 400 seedlings for reforestation

In yet another action focused on sustainability, one of its pillars of development, Greenplac MDF participated at the end of February in the first native seedling planting action of the FLORA MS project, developed by the Government of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, in partnership with city halls for reforestation. Four hundred seedlings of the Sangua-d’água and Angico-Vermelho species, donated by the company, were planted in the degraded spring area of the Córrego Vertente Funda, in Água Clara, where Greenplac's industrial plant is located. "The stream has suffered from silting for a long time, so the recovery of native vegetation should improve water drainage, thus contributing to the quality of life of the population in the region," highlighted the Secretary of Environment of Água Clara, Letícia Feitosa, who accompanied the action.

For Greenplac's General Director, Valmir de Souza, this is another initiative that reaffirms the company's commitment to sustainability. "Since we arrived in the municipality five years ago, we have promoted joint actions with public authorities and the community to improve everyone's quality of life," he reinforces. "Our participation in the FLORA MS project is another initiative, among many to come, for the sustainable development of the region."

The project plans to plant 150 seedlings per month in the region for one year, but the first action received a larger number of seedlings as a symbolic act of the start of activities. Company employees and employees of the Department of Environment of the Água Clara City Hall (MS), under the direction of Mayor Gerolina Alves, carried out the work with great excitement and enthusiasm, already looking forward to the next action in March. In addition to these two native seedling species, another 10 are planned for the project, such as Ipê-Roxo, always respecting the periodicity and the correct time of planting and natural characteristics of each variety. In addition to the donation of seedlings, Greenplac will adopt a square "Praça Green", contributing to the revitalization of the city and providing well-being to residents.

The Greenplac MDF Environment Department and the Environment Secretariat of the Água Clara City Hall are fully dedicated to the project, which goes beyond planting seedlings. The focus will also be to maintain a technical approach to frequent planting and monitor the healthy growth of the planted vegetation.

Greenplac started its activities in MDF production on July 4, 2018, with high-quality equipment and a trained workforce, in addition to the enthusiasm and security of belonging to Asperbras Brasil S.A, a holding company with over 55 years of assertive performance in different markets. Investments in Greenplac's industrial complex and in different fronts of operations, since the foundation stone was laid in 2016 in the municipality of Água Clara (MS), total more than 1 billion reais. Even in a scenario of economic uncertainty, the brand invested another 70 million reais in 2023 in forests, expansions, certifications, new technologies, equipment, and increased capacity in the production of coated MDF, in addition to maintaining a strong presence in sales points. "In these five years, we have learned more about the potential of our product, certifications, achievement of important seals, and market news in its different moments," says José Roberto Colnaghi, Chairman of the Administrative Council of Asperbras Brasil S.A.

Since its inception, the company has carried out several actions that highlight its Green DNA. It has made socio-environmental commitments with participation in Reforestation Programs, Community Garden – Horta Green, support for the Resgatando Vidas Institute of the Gerando Falcões group, implementation of selective collection, water treatment programs, clean energy generation from biomass, and Circular Design actions with donations and reuse of materials.

Greenplac has a team of more than 700 direct and indirect professionals and has leaders with grit and willingness to make the company grow in the country. "I realize that time passes quickly and that we have built solid pillars with unity, dedication, and commitment from everyone.
