Greenplac lança projeto 'Greenplac por Águas Mais Limpas'

Greenplac launches 'Greenplac for Cleaner Waters' project

Ongoing project aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the Verde River, in Água Clara (MS)

During Environment Week, Greenplac — an MDF manufacturer — launched the first edition of the "Greenplac for Cleaner Waters" project, an initiative aimed at preserving the Verde River, in Água Clara (MS), the municipality that houses the company's industrial plant.

Around 100 volunteers participated in the action, including Greenplac employees, local residents, and representatives from the Unidos pelo Rio Verde Association (AURV). Approximately 1 ton of waste was removed from the riverbanks, contributing to the cleanliness and preservation of the local ecosystem. 13 boats were needed to assist the team.

In addition to the waste removed from the banks of the Verde River, the action seeks to raise awareness among the population about correct disposal, reducing the environmental impacts caused by human activity. The project was coordinated by Bianca Lemes and involved the entire Greenplac Environment department.

"More than a one-time action, this project is born with the purpose of becoming continuous, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness," stated Laís Carelo, Marketing Manager at Greenplac, a company belonging to the Colpar Brasil holding.

The preservation of the Verde River is essential not only for local biodiversity but also for the quality of life of the community that depends on its resources. Greenplac intends to carry out new editions of the project, making it continuous, in order to increasingly involve the population in awareness and through actions for a healthier environment.

Since its foundation, the company has adopted social and environmental responsibility processes, such as the Green Garden Project, with a garden developed for the production of organic and fresh food for local institutions and employees in Água Clara; the Flora MS Project, with seedling plantations; Circular Design, which donates used material from coating events and product demonstrations to NGOs and professional institutions; and reforestation with its own 18,000-hectare eucalyptus forest, the raw material for the MDFs manufactured by the company.
