Milan. April 2026.

The world and design together for a week.

Salone del Mobile. Fuori Salone.

Thousands of people. An entire city transformed into a trend laboratory.

What was seen?

Colors that demand presence: Earth tones, marsalas, acidic suns, deep greens, varieties of blues, warm beiges, cappuccinos, a range of off-whites, and a touch of candy colors for a soft romanticism.

Pure Materiality: Metals and glass with hammered, brushed, organic, crimped, and oxidized effects.

Textures born from nature: whole and paneled woods, calm and linear woods, painted woods, highlighting their authenticity.

The tones of dark walnuts, traditionally associated with Italian elegance, now perceived with new perspectives. Warm and medium Latin American woods are now in vogue, and almond woods are ever-present.

Highlights?

More linear walnuts.

Luxury truly abandons excess. Iconic brands celebrate essence.

Organic forms exist, but are now more subtle.

Materiality needs to be true. And honest.

Delicate surprises?

A neutral fabric covering noble woods within. A defense of comfort in the environment?

A central insight.

What caught my attention most wasn't what was on display.

It was what each person chose to see.

I saw hundreds of posts. The same environment. Different interpretations.

That's where sensitivity comes in.

Recognizing repetition before it's called a "trend."

Milan is the barometer of world design.

How to translate Milan for your client?

A leisure project in the countryside, a residence in the capital, or an office on the main avenue.

Personalization is not the future. It is your IDENTITY in the age of connection and engagement.
